About this event
Tadhana is a modern fragrance house that pairs uncommon Philippine and regional Asian ingredients with the discipline of French perfumery. The names of their perfumes evoke archetypes, storied moments, and a quiet sense of destiny-a nod to the brand's name, which translates to fate or destiny in Filipino. Founder and in-house perfumer Shale Albao-trained at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles-created Tadhana to bring Asian voices, raw materials, and narratives to the forefront of fine fragrance. Classical French technique shapes the design of each perfume, while Albao's Filipino heritage and native sourcing give them their distinct point of view. We'll smell seven Tadhana perfumes and take a different approach to what is typically encountered at retail perfume counters. Attendees will blind smell perfumes on fragrance blotters before the name of the perfume, olfactory notes, and fragrance family are revealed. The Smell and Tell series of art+science programming is led by Michelle Krell Kydd, a trained nose in flavors and fragrance who shares her passion for gastronomy, sensory evaluation, and the perfume arts in Glass Petal Smoke. Smell & Tell builds community through interactions with flavor, fragrance and storytelling. Smell and Tell is presented remotely by Michelle Krell Kydd to an in-person audience. Fragrances and other materials are provided to in-person attendees. L
