Critter Investigators

About this event

Curious about the wild world around you? Come to Oakwoods Metropark and become a Critter Investigator! Each month, we’ll explore the park and discover fascinating plants and animals that live right in our own backyard. Through hands-on activities and guided exploration, kids ages 8 – 14 will learn how to observe nature like real scientists while having fun outdoors together.

This ongoing drop off program is perfect for children who love to explore, ask questions, and uncover the secrets of the natural world—one critter at a time!

What To Expect:

This program is entirely outdoors. The time, approximately 120 minutes, will be spent on the trail. The planned path surface is dirt and gravel and mostly flat and level. However, conditions may determine that other trails, which include uneven terrain, may be utilized.

Ages: Children 8 – 14.

Time: 10 a.m.– Noon

Cost: $5 per child

Location: Oakwoods Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
