About this event
Join us for a FREE in-person Artist Trading Card (ATC) Tea-n-Trade Event for families! Register in advance to secure your spot and bring your artist trading cards along with some fancy cookies to swap and share. We will provide tea served in Grandmother's china teacups. This event is for adults and teens aged 15 and older, and note that we will not be making ATCs but celebrating and trading our mini-masterpieces instead.
Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art, measuring 2.5" x 3.5", that are traded around the world among artists during organized swap events. The ATC movement began in 1997 when Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann invited others to trade cards during an exhibit’s closing event, which inspired a global community of ATC creators.
Feel free to express your creativity using any media or techniques for your ATCs, keeping in mind they must fit into standard trading card sleeves. While ATCs are traded and not sold, some artists do create and sell Art Card Editions and Originals (ACEO).
For more opportunities to create, consider our noon open studio hour where you can make cards before the event. Visit the Art Works! Studio website for details about additional classes and workshops. We look forward to celebrating artistic expression and community with you!
