- ➤ Tremble, a national fitness studio franchise, will open at 417 E. Liberty St. this winter semester to offer fun and challenging workouts for UM students and locals; presales will begin mid-January (pending construction plans). MLive
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Downtown Development Authority and local artist David Zinn have launched a public art scavenger hunt featuring Nadine the mouse, inviting participants to solve 10 riddles and submit their stories at Kerrytown Market and Shops for a reward. The hunt is available now downtown. MLive
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Dec. 10, 2025, foam spilled from a storm sewer near Slauson Middle School and Waterworks Park in Ann Arbor and was later confirmed as natural saponins from honey locust seed pods—nature’s own bubble bath—after rain. City crews placed absorbent booms near Liberty Street to capture and test the foam. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Parts of First and Washington streets on the west side have been closed since Jan. 7 for a months-long sewer project with the University of Michigan. Local detours are active (via Huron, Main, and Liberty streets) while the $20.5 million project improves sewer capacity for incoming dorms. MLive
