- ➤ Kent Syverud will become the University of Michigan president on July 1 and faces challenges from a 25-year campus expansion plan to managing athletic department controversies & affordability concerns in Ann Arbor. - ➤ Ypsilanti Township met Jan. 14 to discuss a $1.2B data center project by University of Michigan and Los Alamos with two sites – one at the American Center for Mobility and one on Textile Road – as residents raised concerns; the university will host a meeting Jan. 29. MLive
