GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A Washtenaw County judge denied a Saline Township resident's motion to stop building a large data center for Oracle & OpenAI that has been under construction along Michigan Avenue. Residents say the project disrupts daily life and plan to fight it legally. WXYZ
- ➤ Michigan engineers and transportation officials are testing innovative road materials and rubber asphalt on a one-mile Washtenaw County stretch, while Ferris State University holds certification classes to improve road durability (data from these tests could lower pothole occurrences statewide). - ➤ On Thursday, Feb. 19, Ann Arbor City Council approved $231,000 from greenbelt funds to help purchase the 79-acre Davenport property along Mill Creek. The bluebelt project partners with township and county officials to protect drinking water quality and natural lands for future restoration (it is among the highest-scoring conservation proposals).
