- ➤ A fire on Monday, Feb. 23 at Maxton Plaza on the 2000 block of Washtenaw Avenue in Ypsilanti Township injured two firefighters and destroyed several businesses before crews wrapped up work just before 7 a.m. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Christopher Timmis will conclude his 13-year tenure as superintendent at Dexter Community Schools with an open house on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Creekside Intermediate School — school board members honored his leadership and he will continue mentoring new superintendents. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ann Arbor officials and TheRide are reviewing plans to add bus lanes on Washtenaw Avenue near the U.S.-23 interchange to speed transit and reduce congestion, with a grant application due today and design work set before summer 2027 construction. Local transportation experts say the upgrade will improve safety and efficiency. MLive
- ➤ Ann Arbor City invites residents to share input for its Vision Zero North Main study through an online survey open until March 20 & three community sessions scheduled for March 10, 11, and 12 at the DDA offices in Kerrytown at 415 N. Main St. MLive
