- ➤ Bill's Beer Garden at 218 S. Ashley reopened on Saturday, March 14, attracting hundreds of local patrons who enjoyed new drink options + a welcoming dog-friendly setting ahead of early St. Patrick's Day celebrations; the venue will operate seasonally from mid-March to mid-November. MLive

- ➤ Adam Mael, a University of Michigan staffer, built detailed LEGO models including a football trophy and campus replica (shown at Brick Bash on Feb. 28 to March 1 at Skyline High School). He continues to create mini scenes inspired by Taylor Swift lyrics and his UM days. MLive

- ➤ A University of Michigan herbarium manager (Aly Baumgartner) said a light-colored chevron pattern on leaves is the best sign to find a four-leaf clover in nature; about one in 5,000 clovers have four leaves, which helps explain why they are symbols of luck for local St. Patrick’s Day events. - ➤ Washtenaw County Health Department confirmed a second measles case after a close contact tested positive on March 12, adding Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor and Crunch Fitness in Ypsilanti to the exposure list.
