  • The Ark in Ann Arbor is hosting over 30 concerts in May, featuring folk legends like Joan Osborne (May 1) and bluegrass pioneers such as The Seldom Scene (May 22) plus new collaborations like Guitar Women (May 16). EDUCATION NEWS

  • UM professor Shelly Schreier was named one of three recipients of the Michigan Distinguished Professor of the Year Award after teaching over 26,000 students; she will be honored at a luncheon in Lansing on Apr. 10.  MLive

  • The Michigan High School Athletic Association announced postseason assignments for the 2026 football season, placing longtime rivals Dexter and Chelsea in Division 3 — Dexter dropped from Division 2 after its enrollment decreased while Chelsea moved up from Division 4.  MLive
