- ➤ Scammers posing as Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office employees contacted residents via phone, text and email to demand money and gift cards while threatening arrest and other penalties — the sheriff’s office said they would never ask for such compensation and urged residents to verify any contact by calling 734-994-2911 or 911.
