- ➤ Ann Arbor's annual Huron River Day will take place on Saturday, May 16 at Riverside Park at 1000 Canal St with morning conservation activities starting at 8 a.m. and a free festival from noon to 4 p.m. that features family crafts, live animals, inflatables & local food vendors. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Approximately 200 Ann Arbor Pioneer High students hosted their 2026 prom today at Michigan Stadium, celebrating with pastel dresses and dapper suits in a Tangled-themed event. MLive
- ➤ Concordia University Ann Arbor will host a free weeklong Move and Groove Youth Literacy Camp from June 22-26 on its Plymouth Road campus. The camp, open to kindergarten through third grade, blends movement, reading instruction and social activities with daily lunch and snacks (led by faculty and occupational therapy students in training). - ➤ The University of Michigan’s Canvas remains down after a cyberattack by ShinyHunters, and officials have advised students to log out for security while the investigation continues — they are working to restore full access with no timeline yet provided. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Washtenaw County road work will affect many roads from May 11 to 17 as motorist lanes and bridges will be closed, including Ann Arbor’s US-23 near Warren Road, which will stay closed until Aug. 19 (weather may change schedules). MLive
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Blue Cross Blue Shield and Michigan Medicine are still negotiating a contract that may change coverage for 250,000 patients if no deal is reached by June 30, and patients with serious conditions will get in network rates until Sept. 29 even if Michigan Medicine becomes out network from July 1.
