- ➤ Officials demolished the Ann Arbor Farmers Market office building on Monday, May 12 after its foundation was deemed unsafe, leaving rubble in Kerrytown. City officials will launch a study later this year to plan a $21 million reconstruction as part of downtown development efforts—aimed at improving access and comfort for vendors and visitors. MLive
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On May 7, a collapsed sanitary sewer pipe at the South Main and West Madison intersection caused 8,400 gallons of raw sewage to spill onto the street and flow into the Huron River—officials later said staff first thought the leak was from a water main break. MLive
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Former Michigan lineman Alessandro Lorenzetti—who did not play a snap in three seasons—committed to Baylor in the Big 12 and will have two seasons of eligibility left after switching from offense to defense when he arrived from Montreal in 2022. MLive
- ➤ The annual Michigan-Ohio State football game will be played on Nov. 29th at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor and will air on FOX at 12 p.m. ET as part of the Big Noon Kickoff window — marking the eighth consecutive year FOX has televised the rivalry. MLive
- ➤ Michigan softball will start NCAA Tournament play at 2 p.m. Friday in Austin, Texas when they face Central Florida after winning a Big Ten Tournament match against UCLA. The team has a six-game win streak and strong pitching from Lauren Derkowski and Erin Hoehn — a boost as they head into the game. MLive
- ➤ Bergen Catholic’s Jordan Thomas, a top 2026 four-star cornerback prospect, announced his verbal pledge to the Buckeyes on Monday, choosing Ohio State over Michigan, Auburn, Texas A&M and Notre Dame.
