- ➤ Veterans Memorial Park in Ann Arbor is still recovering nearly a month after an EF-1 tornado struck on April 15; community facilities like baseball fields, a pool, and an ice arena remain closed with repairs still underway (damage assessments continue). WXYZ
- ➤ Ann Arbor and the Downtown Development Authority will host meetings May 19 to 21 at Kerrytown Market and Shops (415 N. Fifth Ave.) to gather community input on redesigning North Main Street with ideas for roundabouts and sidewalks. - ➤ State data released May 7 shows 2,277 Washtenaw County public school graduates enrolled in college within six months of graduation; top choices include Washtenaw Community College, University of Michigan, Michigan State and Eastern Michigan (504, 414, 275 and 203 respectively). Trends show a long-term drop in Eastern's enrollment among local students. MLive
- ➤ Ann Arbor Public Schools officials previewed planned policy changes on Tuesday, May 7 (designed to lower graduation barriers by reducing required credits from 22 to 18 starting in 2027 and easing the FAFSA process) to help students facing credit deficits and paperwork challenges. MLive

- ➤ Greg Crippen, undrafted Michigan offensive lineman (with 40 games played), signed with the Steelers on Monday after an impressive rookie minicamp performance. He earned 21 starts at Michigan and now seeks a roster spot in camp. MLive
