- ➤ Tech industry leaders and Gov. Whitmer broke ground Monday, June 1 at a controversial $16 billion data center project at The Barn in Saline Township, south of Ann Arbor. The project will create 2,500 union construction jobs & generate tax revenue for the township. MLive

- ➤ Residents in Ann Arbor who use DTE Energy or Consumers Energy have faced higher summer peak rates on weekdays between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. since June 1 — a plan designed to ease grid strain by shifting energy use to off-peak hours through Sept. 30. MLive

- ➤ Wildlife officials advise keeping a safe distance from young fawns, bunnies, and birds found alone since mothers will return to protect their offspring. Residents should contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator only if an animal appears injured. MLive
- ➤ UM's Taubman Health Sciences Library at 1135 Catherine St. earned a 2025 energy award from the Michigan Green Building Collaborative for a 23% energy reduction that saved 100 to 125 metric tons of CO2 and $30,000, paying for itself in under a year. UM aims for net-zero emissions by 2040. MLive
