CULTURE NEWS

  • Local painters with a 50-year tradition will hold their art fair on June 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds (20501 Old U.S. 12) where about 18 artists will display and sell original artwork (with a raffle for a $200 art gift certificate).  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A new high-end condo complex at the corner of Sunset Road and Wildt Street was built without a sidewalk because the city is studying a plan to fill the gap as part of its capital improvement strategy—residents can join a meeting June 23 at the downtown library to offer feedback. Officials say the study aims to boost pedestrian safety in the busy area.  MLive
