- ➤ Yuengling, America's oldest brewery, announced Monday that it has reached a distribution agreement to bring its lager to Michigan with products available on Aug. 11 in Detroit, Ann Arbor & Lansing. - ➤ Chengxuan Han, a Chinese academic bound for the University of Michigan, was arrested on Monday after a criminal complaint alleged he sent four packages of roundworm material over recent months—federal authorities say he also made false statements about the shipments. MLive
- ➤ Michigan State Police warned residents to delete scam texts that claim an outstanding traffic ticket is due—motorists are urged not to click any links as the text falsely claims penalties will start on June 11 and the Michigan State Department of Vehicles does not exist. MLive

- ➤ Graduation cap photos from Ann Arbor Pioneer’s commencement on June 5 showed that many Washtenaw County seniors chose colleges close to home—16.7% of Ann Arbor Public Schools’ roughly 1,300 graduates in 2024 attended the University of Michigan. MLive
- ➤ The University of Michigan ended contracts with private security firms that used plainclothes staff to watch pro-Palestinian activists on campus—this change came after a Guardian report revealed the surveillance. MLive
