- ➤ Crews installed a new pedestrian tunnel between Bandemer Park and Barton Nature Area on June 4th that will join the Border-to-Border Trail. The 48-hour project replaced a section above the Amtrak railroad and a one-minute time-lapse video shows the work. MLive
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Red Hawk Bar and Grill, a 33-year-old restaurant near the University of Michigan, closed on May 3 after failing to pay almost $10,000 in monthly rent, leading to a court-ordered eviction and a posted notice this week. Co-owner Roger Hewitt confirmed the restaurant had vacated the building and Oxford Property Management said the space is now available for lease — new restaurant plans are being considered for the site. - ➤ The University of Michigan Board of Regents will meet today at 3:30 p.m. in the Ruthven Building to vote on a resolution that—if approved—will allow a 90-second fireworks display from the stadium's east and west towers at the Zach Bryan concert on Sept. 27. The plan, produced by Las Vegas-based Pyrotek Special Effects Inc., awaits final safety approval by the university fire marshal. MLive

- ➤ Local officials are monitoring beaver activity at Leslie Park Golf Course—after removing dam-building beavers from a creek on June 6—and deciding if any animals can be saved, according to Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner Gretchen Driskell’s office. MLive
