Tomorrow, the University of Michigan will soft-open its new Hadley Family Recreation & Well-Being Center at 401 Washtenaw Ave. with summer hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the five-level, 200,000 sqft, $165M facility features a 52-foot climbing wall, pools, and sports spaces accessible to students, faculty, and staff.

The African American Cultural and Historical Museum of Washtenaw County hosts a Juneteenth Day of Service at Woodlawn Cemetery (7800 S.

Huron River Drive) on Friday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers will help restore Washtenaw’s only historic Black cemetery as it marks 80 years.

Colorful murals have been installed at Dunbar Tower (the affordable apartment building at Catherine and Fourth) to honor local Black history and culture.
