CRIME NEWS

  • A judge ruled that three of the four defendants will stand trial in a January 4 home invasion and robbery in Augusta Township—charges for one defendant were dismissed and another will face only one count after cell phone and license data failed to prove they impersonated police.  MLive
  • Michigan State Police is warning residents about phone scam calls where individuals pretend to be officers and claim that a missed court date requires immediate action; the police said they will never call to ask for personal details and urged anyone who receives such a call to hang up—reporting the incident to a local MSP post. This warning aims to help protect residents from giving out sensitive information over the phone.  MLive
