  • Ann Arbor’s Sonic Lunch concert on Thursday packed Liberty Street as four of Tally Hall’s original members performed live in a near-reunion show. The free outdoor event—sponsored by Bank of Ann Arbor and hosted by Tree Town Sound’s Matt Altruda—featured hits from the band and songs from Andrew Horowitz’s solo project.  MLive

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A former University of Michigan employee in his 60s alleged that department managers intentionally sabotaged his position—blocking him from other labor roles after his multiple surgeries. He filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in late July.  MLive

  • U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell received the Champion of Science Award at the University of Michigan on Aug. 8—she said federal funding is key to strong research and global innovation—and her team celebrated the honor during a staff retreat amid federal cuts.  MLive
