Ballet Chelsea, a nonprofit dance studio in Chelsea, has opened registration for its 2026-27 studio year starting Aug.
24; it offers classes for ages 3 through adults in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and more. Free trial classes are available (see the website) for new students.
🌲 Environment
The YPSI, a nonprofit venue in downtown Ypsilanti, installed a high-resolution air quality sensor to measure wildfire smoke and pollution from heavy traffic today.
The sensor tracks particulate matter, temperature & humidity and connects with PurpleAir, the EPA, Weather Underground and researchers to share real-time data.

Michigan football adds Texas transfer Jaime Ffrench to its receiving lineup; the receiver (6-foot-2) redshirted last season after playing with high-profile quarterbacks at Texas and will look to showcase his work in fall in Ann Arbor.
Michigan football faces a challenge in its linebacker group as new defensive coordinator Jay Hill said the fall camp lineup has a strong frontline and secondary (with backups Troy Bowles and Chase Taylor stepping up) but lacks experience amid transfers and NFL departures.
Ann Arbor readers are invited to vote for their favorite high school football team expected to win the most games this fall.
The poll accepts votes until 9 a.m. on Aug. 20.
