ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 52-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing Ann Arbor-Saline Road on his electric scooter within the pedestrian crosswalk at around 12:30 p.m. on Aug 19 — he was taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening as the 79-year-old driver cooperated with police.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Michigan football has named six seniors as captains for the 2025 season—Max Bredeson, defensive back Rod Moore, offensive lineman Giovanni El-Hadi, linebacker Ernest Hausmann, tight end Marlin Klein, and edge rusher Derrick Moore. The team also selected alternate captains, TJ Guy and Joe Taylor.  MLive
  • Michigan football’s seniors downplayed NCAA sign-stealing penalties that brought probation, fines, recruiting limits and a suspension for coach Moore. They said they will focus on upcoming games and ignore outside distractions—keeping their eyes on the field.  MLive
  • Nearly 40 former Wolverines are set to play football for new schools in 2025 as roster sizes shrink to 105 and over 20 scholarship players transferred from Michigan last offseason — with players seeking larger roles at schools like Western Michigan and Missouri — showing the transfer portal's growing impact on college football.  MLive
