EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Professor Cara Shillington of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti will speak at Colorado’s La Junta Tarantula Fest on Friday and Saturday—she and graduate student Spencer Poscente will collect nighttime tarantula data during the mating season. Shillington, who keeps thousands of tarantulas at home, built a career studying these creatures and now balances her research with teaching. MLive
- ➤ The Chelsea Education Foundation and the Educational Foundation of Dexter are competing in a fundraiser that will run at halftime of the football game on Friday, Sept. 26 at Al Ritt Stadium (2521 Baker Roard) as fans track donations online.
