BUSINESS NEWS

  • The cheese shop at 3723 Plaza Dr. near Ann Arbor has been renamed Sanilac Creamery as part of a business restructuring by owner Arend Elston—he said the shop will continue to sell the same products under the Zingerman’s brand.  MLive

CULTURE NEWS

  • CBS is bringing a tour bus from its new show 'The Road' to Ann Arbor today from 8 to 11 a.m.—Fans can view setlists, instruments and photos at 524 S. Main St., and the bus will later take Sigma Kappa sorority members to the football game.  MLive

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Reports show that near-record heat has meant trees in the western U.P. reached 50% fall color and will peak between October 10 and 14 while much of Lower Michigan remains green—travelers may seek a brighter display farther north. Inland forests in Lower Michigan will gradually add color by mid-October as cooler temperatures allow the change.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ann Arbor's Sustaining Ann Arbor Together program awarded $81,500 to ten community groups to fund sustainability projects. Marquee Arts received a $10,000 grant to offer free film screenings in its 2025 Cinema and Sustainability series—supporting local public benefits.  MLive

SPORTS NEWS

  • Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, a U of M grad, will join FOX Sports' Big Noon Kickoff pregame show airing today at 10 a.m. at Pioneer High School—located across from Michigan Stadium—with plans to film a segment at a fraternity tailgate party and feature comedian Druski and sports analysts before the noon game between the Wolverines and Badgers.  MLive
