  • On Oct. 1, Necto, the nightclub and event space on E Liberty St, installed a bright new vertical orange sign to improve visibility downtown. Owner Scot Greig said the sign was part of a plan spanning two decades to highlight the venue's unique character — it adds to downtown's evolving skyline.  MLive

  • Niche.com released rankings showing four of Michigan’s top five high schools for 2026 were private institutions—while thirteen of the top 25 were public—and provided insight into education trends across the state.  MLive

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • A patron at The Songbird Cafe on 2707 Plymouth Road enjoyed a Turmeric Ginger Honey Latte that warmed him on a cold, rainy October day in Ann Arbor. He recalled his cross-country running days and said the spicy ginger flavor helped him face the weather—turning the cafe into a welcome refuge.  MLive

SPORTS NEWS

  • Michigan Wolverines running back Justice Haynes was injured in the second quarter of Saturday's game against USC and was seen walking gingerly on the team's opening drive of the second half—if he does not return, Michigan will rely on backup Jordan Marshall to carry the offense.  All About Ann Arbor
