- ➤ Ann Arbor officials will host a grand opening ceremony at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5 to celebrate a new tunnel path linking Bandemer Park and Barton Nature Area along the Huron River — the tunnel passes under railroad tracks to give pedestrians and cyclists a direct connection between the parks. MLive

- ➤ On October 24, Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai addressed over 250 attendees at the Michigan Union where she promoted her memoir Finding My Way and recounted how early experiences of educational injustice led her to activism—her remarks were met with praise from university officials and local students. - ➤ A survey by Ann Arbor Public Schools found that over 80% of parents, students and staff feel supported at school, though equity gaps remain.
