- ➤ Joan Jett, a rock legend and longtime animal rights advocate, appeared on a PETA billboard at 700 W. Cross St. in Ypsilanti—urging Domino's to add vegan cheese to its U.S. menus; the ad stands less than a half-mile from a Domino's location and about 10 miles from its headquarters as part of a campaign that also offered free dairy-free pizza slices and made stock purchases. The effort calls for a more humane menu option and highlights that such cheese is available in other countries. MLive
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Powerful organizations including OpenAI and the University of Michigan plan to build several data centers in southeast Michigan, with a project in Saline Township scheduled to begin early next year after a settlement that contributed $14 million to local services. Local residents and environmental advocates remain concerned that the projects could harm land conservation and raise power demand—adding 1.4 gigawatts that may strain the electric grid. MLive
