- ➤ Pinball Pete's is in its final month at its longtime location inside the Galleria Mall on South U — its space will be used for a new high-rise development. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ University of Michigan announced on November 13 that it would invest $250M over five years in a new biomedical innovation institute to speed up research advances. The institute will focus on biological artificial intelligence, clinical trials, and commercialization (including noninvasive cancer treatments) while recruiting top scientists from around the world. - ➤ Kristine Stephens begins her role as the new artistic director and theater teacher at Skyline High School and will lead the production of 'Leaving Iowa,' which runs today until Nov. 16—she said she is excited for the future. MLive
- ➤ State data show that fewer newly hired teachers have stayed in Ann Arbor area schools than the Michigan average, according to the Michigan Department of Education. The 2024-25 figures reveal that Washtenaw County districts—such as Saline Area Schools—reported retention rates below 70% from 2020-21 to last year. MLive
