- ➤ Ann Arbor parents signed a petition asking to ban cell phone use during school hours from first bell to last bell, and over 700 parents have supported the request as school board members discussed it on Friday + some say the ban will boost classroom focus while others worry it may limit safety during emergencies. The district stated that a policy change is unlikely to occur this school year. WXYZ
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ann Arbor officials announced a new rebate program for residents to trade in old gas leaf blowers for rakes or electric models starting Nov. 21—rebates cover 100% of a new rake’s cost or half the cost of an electric blower up to $100. Residents must recycle their old equipment as outlined by the city before funds run out. MLive
