About this event

Be What’s It Like to Be… is a fun monthly program for kids ages 6–8, held on the third Saturday of each month. Each session introduces a different field of science, giving young explorers a chance to discover, experiment, and learn in exciting new ways. After each program, participants earn a special pin that matches the month’s theme—collect all 12 to become a super scientist! Programs begin indoors, with some adventures staying inside and others heading outdoors (weather permitting). Pre-registration is required, as supplies are limited.

What to Expect:

This program is held indoors/outdoors depending on the topic. The time, approximately 90 minutes, will be spent doing interactive nature activities and/or a leisurely walk. If we go outside, the planned path surface is gravel and mostly flat and level.

Ages: Children 6 – 8. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Time: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $6 per child

Location: Oakwoods Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
