If you're headed to tonight, it's a big one. Michigan opens the 2026-27 season at home against No. 2 UConn at 6:30 p.m. on FS1, the first Crisler matchup of two top-five women's teams.

Michigan is coming off the most successful season in program history, and juniors Olivia Olson and Syla Swords are back. Point guard Mila Holloway won't play this month. The Ann Arbor Observer reported she is likely out for the season, but those inside the program aren't willing to go that far. "We want it to be our turn this year," Olson said.

  • Preseason AP rank: No. 5, the program's highest
  • Last season: 28-7 and an Elite Eight run
  • New center: 6-foot-5 freshman Fope Ayo, 10 points in 10 minutes
  • Exhibition opponent: Rochester Christian, beaten 115-24
